The First Headrig of TK900 Sawmill
In this video we show you the detail of the first head of the TK900. We checked its displacement and precision, features that have been maintained in all our current models..
One day, my friend Andrés arrived with some videos he had found on the internet. Excitedly, he said to me, "I provide the funds, and you make it happen." All the concepts already existed, it was just a matter of replicating them correctly, or as we often say, applying a little bit of "reverse engineering." The initial idea was for Andrés to saw the wood from his own land. However, the urgency of his schedule led him to hire someone who already had a functioning sawmill. The idea, although still present, was momentarily put on hold.
After weeks of careful planning and design, the day came to start production. Nico's workshop was our refuge, where each piece began to take shape. From the very beginning, when buying materials, he was thinking not only about one sawmill, but two. He was certain that this project would not only work, but soon we would be producing more. Every pipe, every bolt, was a bet on the future. It was in that workshop where the first Mikuman Sawmill was born.
The original design of the sawmill was completely disassemblable, assembled with bolts, and equipped with a 7hp motor. The head, a fundamental part of the design, never changed from that first version. However, the structure did evolve, becoming more robust and solid over time. Each new adjustment, each improvement, brought us closer to perfection..
After weeks of work, the moment of truth arrived: the test. With anxiety and excitement, we started the sawmill, ready to cut the first logs. But something went wrong. It wouldn't cut! It was malfunctioning and we didn't know why. Had we failed in our calculations? That night, we went to sleep with a bit of distress, knowing that something had slipped by us. The next day, after investigating and reviewing everything, we discovered that the saw blade was installed backwards. Such a simple but crucial detail! Once corrected, the machine worked perfectly.
After overcoming this first obstacle, my friend Ezequiel joined us, who was a key in creating our identity. One day, out of the blue, he said to me: "I have the name for the company!" and it was perfect:MIKUMAN.
The name has a touching story behind it. My son Ciro, when he was little, heard that his grandmother was going on a trip to Tucumán. With his child logic, he exclaimed: "I want to go to Micumán too!" That anecdote became one of our favorites, and, without realizing it, it would be the name that our company would carry. Thanks to Ezequiel and his timely idea, MIKUMAN was born, a name that carries the affection of a family story.
With the name defined, I was able to design the stickers and even the user manual and assembly guide for the sawmill. Only one crucial thing was missing: someone who believed in our product..
After months of work, perfecting the design and making adjustments, we were missing the most important thing: a buyer. During those days, we were offering promotional prices to attract the first customers. One day, a gentleman showed interest and came to see the sawmill. We set up a log and started the demonstration. Although impressed, he mentioned that the sawmill seemed too small for his needs..
That first sale was the breakthrough we needed. Over time, we started producing more models of the TK900, and sales began to grow. That's when we decided to take it a step further and created the TK1300, with a more powerful 13hp engine. The first person to purchase it was our friend Abel, from Cholila. With the success of the TK1300, we continued innovating and designing new models. That's how others like the TK2400 were born, and we kept evolving to larger versions like the TK2900, which is currently in the works.
But the story of the first sawmill didn't end there. One day, Matías called us again, this time to exchange his old TK900 for a TK1300. With affection, we accepted his sawmill as part of the payment, and so, Matías took home another Mikuman, while the first sawmill returned to our hands, loaded with memories and meaning..
This is the story of the first Mikuman sawmill, the beginning of a journey that we continue to travel with passion. Since that first design, many years and many sawmills have gone by, but the spirit of innovation, hard work, and confidence in our products remains the same. And now, with each new model, like the TK2900, we look to the future with the same excitement as when we started that day in Nico's workshop..
In this video we show you the detail of the first head of the TK900. We checked its displacement and precision, features that have been maintained in all our current models..
A behind-the-scenes look at Nico's Workshop, where Nico and Ezequiel are working on producing two new sawmills, following the success of our first sale..
A closer look at the structure and head of the first Mikuman, a design that marked the beginning of our story.
This video captures one of the first tests of the sawmill. It may have been the third cut we made with the TK900, you can hear Ciro..
A video with a nostalgic touch. The can that appears was rescued from the garbage dump, and it became part of our visual history!
In this clip, Nico shows us how the first TK900 works, a key piece in the beginnings of Mikuman..
We had already manufactured several TK900, and in this video we see the Mikuman Black, possibly the sixth in the series..
In this video, two versions of the TK900 appear: the Orange and the Black, two models that reflect the evolution of Mikuman..
Did you know that before Mikuman, there were other things? Know the story of how I started..
